There are plenty od chicken coop designs on the internet. You can buy a variety of chicken coop designs. But what I found out while I was searching for a good chicken coop is that it is best to just build it yourself. At first it didn’t look like a good idea. I don’t have much skills with building any kind of structures. I was asking myself things like “What materials will I need?”, “Will I be able to get good chicken coop plans?”, “What if I get stuck while building, not knowing what to do?” and more.
But the thing is, if you just buy the coop on the internet or even in a store near you, it won’t be customized, it won’t suit your needs and the cost will be much higher. So, you can build a chicken coop that suits your needs, is customized specially for your environment and you just need the money for the materials (you probably have some at your house already, or maybe a friend has some he doesn’t need, be sure to ask around a bit, don’t just buy it) or you could buy a chicken coop which isn’t really customized for you, it may not suit your perfectly and it will cost you more.
Yeah, building your own chicken coop will take some time. Buying one would be faster. But it is worth the time. What I’m talking about here is a quality chicken coop, that’s what I was looking for and I wasn’t going to take anything else. Quality for me and my chicken. That is what really counts. I wasn’t just going to settle for the first things that seemed to be good. I wanted it to be exactly like what I was looking for, exactly what I needed. And I wasn’t going to seetle for anything less than that. And that will be the subject of my next post. I will talk about what qualities I wanted my chicken coop to have.
